Clean Energy Department is taking initiatives for exploring possibilities for development of Coal Mine Methane (CMM), Abandoned Mine Methane (AMM) and Ventilation Air Methane (VAM) Projects.
Additionally, Clean Energy Department had prepared data dossiers for assessment of Shale Gas resources in coalfields of Damodar Basin and Sohagpur Basin for Directorate General of Hydrocarbons (DGH).
Clean Energy Department has successfully completed various Research & Development (R&D)/Science & Technology (S&T) projects with eminent institutions and various organisations such as Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO), Australia, IIT Bombay, IIT Kharagpur, National Geophysical Research Institute (NGRI), Central Institute of Mining and Fuel Research (CIMFR), Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology (IIEST), National Metallurgical Laboratory (NML), Jamshedpur, Tata Consultancy Engineering (TCE), Advanced Resources International (ARI) etc.
